(AP) – Chris Bosh has failed his physical and is not cleared to participate in Miami Heat training camp, a major blow to the All-Star’s comeback plans and a decision that will likely add to the tension between the team and its highest-paid player.
The Heat made the announcement Friday. Bosh has gone through a series of medical tests in recent days, and the results apparently were not enough to convince Miami that he’s able to play – at least, not yet.
“The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together for many months with the mutual goal of having Chris return to the court as soon as possible,” the team said in a statement.
This is a pretty big blow to the return of Chris Bosh, not just for this year, but maybe ever.
Missing the second half of the last two years because of blood clots, and still only 32 years old, you know that is not the way he wants to go out, but it may not be his choice, and that sucks.
I mean I get it, when he is healthy dude is still a high caliber player, and he wants to play, got a wife and like 5 kids to feed, at the same time you should probably listen to what your body is trying to tell you.
He has been a largely hidden, playing in Toronto for years, and underrated star, but my guess is we dont see him play again. Ever.
And certainly not in a Heat uniform, which if it gets them out of that contract somehow, have to think Pat Riley would take that silver lining.
