The Only Bracket You Need For The 2017 NCAA Tournament Is Here

Presented here, without comment.

PS – ok maybe one comment.  Is the NCAA serious with that “Dont Bet On It” tagline?  Thats like the only reason anyone fills out a bracket.

Its Time For March Madness, Here Is The Only Bracket You Need

Been on vacation for the last week, but Im back just in time to show you the only bracket you will need for this March Madness season.

Ya Ya, I know what you are thinking.  Oh Kansas over UNC in the finals, way to go out on a limb.  To that I say…sometimes chalk is the correct answer.  In this case Rock Chalk Jayhawk if you know what I mean.

Just think these are the two most well rounded teams.  Besides everyone knows your bracket is made or busted in the first weekend.  No worse feeling than losing a Final 4 team on the first day.

Let The Games Begin!

NCAA Hands Down Sanctions On Syracuse

(ESPN) –The NCAA on Friday suspended Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim for nine ACC games, took away 12 scholarships, and ordered that 108 wins be vacated as a result of a multiyear investigation into the university’s athletic programs.

“Over the course of a decade, Syracuse University did not control and monitor its athletics programs,” the NCAA said in a statement, “and its head men’s basketball coach failed to monitor his program.”

Syracuse’s penalties also include a five-year probation and the vacating of all wins in which ineligible men’s basketball student-athletes played during the 2004-07 and 2010-12 seasons, and in which ineligible football student-athletes played in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

So this was the big college story of the day, of course its way overblown and not actually that big.

Boeheim suspended for 9 conference games?  Who cares they play like 35 games a season

Losing 3 scholarships a year for the next few years?  Only slightly affects bench depth, most programs only play 8-9 guys but can carry 13.

Boeheim’s biggest lost is the vacated wins (109), but he should make most of those up in the next couple of years.  Guy has a great recruiting class coming in next year and some quality guys coming back.  Mark it down Syracuse will be in the hunt next year and make the NCAA tournament as a top 4 line seed.

Oh and the team self imposing a tournament ban this year, a year in which they probably wont make it anyway and certainly wouldnt win it, brilliant.

PS – to all the people this will taint Jim Boeheim’s legacy.  HAHAHAHAHA.  This type of thing happens literally every year, and sadly has become old hat.  but truly, how many people are even going to remember this in a few years.

Alabama Boosters Pay Off Nick Saban’s House To The Tune Of $3 Million

ESPNNick Saban may earn in the area of $7 million per year, but that doesn’t stop the Alabama faithful from helping out their championship-winning coach whenever and however they can.

According to a report from AL.com, the Crimson Tide Foundation paid off Saban’s $3.1 million home in January 2013 even though the organization was under no obligation to do so.

The Sabans, who bought the 8,759-square-foot home in 2007, continue living there with the foundation picking up the tab for property taxes each year.

“It’s not all that unusual in the world for universities to provide the housing,” Scott Phelps, assistant secretary of the foundation, told AL.com, noting how the University of Alabama also owned the home of Paul “Bear” Bryant and his family. “We want to keep him happy. We think he is the best coach in America.”

Big news story today, even though its not really a big news story.  This kind of stuff happens all the time.  The part I find amusing is these old boosters that always seem to have endless supplies of money would be more than willing to pay players as well as coaches to get them to come to their school if they think that they can help them win games, so why dont we just let them at this point.

Pay off the coaches house for $3 million that’s cool, but kid signs some autographs and gets a couple grand then throw the book at him.  The hypocrisy abounds.

Arkansas State Player Fakes Death On Fake Punt!

This video has been going viral this week. Classic case of distraction while my team fakes the punt. Would have worked to perfection too, if the QB hadnt thrown it right to the other team. Like were was he going with that pass?

I give the player an A for effort on the fake death, but the team gets an F for execution, and the guy got lit up after they turned the ball over. Double Whammy!

Texas A&M Reveals Their New Football Locker Room…..Its Ok!

And by ok, of course I mean probably one of the best locker rooms in all of college football.

TVs above every sink, LED screens above every locker showing the players name, picture, and stats.  The Aggies just upped their swag game.  And to be honest they kinda had to.

They are running with the big dogs now in the SEC, and now they at least have facilities as nice as anyone in the game.

Now all they need is to win a couple of championships, but for now they win the award for best locker room in 2014.

Or at least until we see the next video of another school with new digs.

Gig Em!
